PREVIOUS UPDATE | MARCH 14TH, 2020

We hope you have been able to slow down to pray and deepen your relationship with God as well as spend time with your loved ones in the midst of everything going on. If you haven't heard, we're having an online service tomorrow on Facebook Live at 10AM Central and we hope to see you there! You will be able to watch it on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in our community. At this time, our City Life Leadership is reaffirming the decision to suspend our Sunday Services and any City Life events until further notice. We are also listening closely to those in our church who are doctors or currently dealing with the virus on the frontlines.

We have a video from Pastor Christ below with more details about what City Life Church is doing, how you can get involved,  and how you can reach out for any help:

Highlights from the video include:

  • Really encouraging our church to pray for our community, city, and country alongside our staff and leaders.
  • The "Why" behind City Life's decision to temporarily suspend all services and events (Acting out of faith and love and not fear)
  • Our promise to continue to communicate clearly
  • Ways you can get involved including prayer calls each evening that you can join
  • How you can reach out to us for any assistance. We are excited about this opportunity to serve our community!

We look forward to seeing you on Facebook Live tomorrow morning (March 15th) at 10AM as we continue to honor God by being Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, socially responsible disciples of Jesus.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33, NKJV)

PREVIOUS UPDATE | MARCH 13TH, 2020

We consider the health and wellbeing of our members and guests seriously here at City Life Church. Two days ago, one of our city’s most significant annual events, Rodeo Houston, canceled the rest of the event due to the potential spread of COVID-19. Today, the City of Houston has raised the level of the outbreak from “Possible Community Spread” to “Community Spread”, and school closures were also announced.

We recognize that this is a severe matter, and as of the evening of Thursday, 3/12/2020, City Life leadership has decided to CANCEL our Sunday services and other church events until further notice.

Our decision was not made lightly, but in line with our city’s guidelines, the CDC, and the counsel of some of our City Life members who are doctors. We are all in agreement that postponing our large gatherings would be the wise thing to do.  Please refer below for the major guidelines that led us to this decision.

  1. The city of Houston has raised the status of the virus from “Possible Community Spread” to “Community Spread.”

  2. There is an increasing number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

  3. The City of Houston is recommending gathering of 250 people or more to postpone or cancel their meetings.

  4. The school districts have closed down for varying amounts of time, and we are not sure when they will reconvene.

  5. Seniors and high-risks citizens with underlying conditions are asked to avoid large gatherings.

We would like for you to know that our action is not based on fear, but being wise and taking precautionary measures to avoid the spread of this virus and ensure the wellbeing of our greater Houston family. We will continue to monitor the situation closely as things may change daily.
